Q: What are your skating goals, both short-term and long-term?
Long term goals: competing with a partner at the Novice and/or Junior levels.
Short term: training, testing, competition. Haven’t tested levels during the past year; plan on taking several tests during this summer (2021).
Competitor at the past four National Solo Dance Series Finals; two consecutive national bronze medals.
Q: What qualities do you possess that would make you a good partner?
Past training partners have included former national and international competitors - to master pattern dance/pairs partnering elements and skills.
I’d like to find a partner as dedicated to the process as I am, so that we can improve together and have complete trust in each other. I am open-minded, willing to work hard and respectful of my coaches. It’s important for me to find a partner that wants to pursue this type of ice skating, and do the on/off-ice training needed to excel with a positive attitude and a sense of humor. The sooner I find a serious teammate, the sooner we can develop our pairs ice dance skills.
Extra comments:
Partnering up in Southern California has been challenging; moving elsewhere to train, whether in the U.S. or Canada, is the reality.
Although ice dancing is my chosen discipline, I have tested and competed in freestyle for skills-building (spins, spirals, extensions, footwork, etc.). Also able to do pairs skating.
Currently in independent study schooling - bilingual English/French speaker. My parents expect me to be disciplined in school and skating, and support my ice dancing goals. My mother trained for 13 years in the Toronto area with high-level figure skating coaches. Finding a great partnership and top-quality training situation is very important.
Eligible to compete for the United States or Canada.
