Q: What are your skating goals, both short-term and long-term?
My short tem goals for the 2024-25 season include getting a consistent lutz and being close to landing my axel. These goals also include successfully completing my Adult Bronze Moves and Freestyle tests. I am also considering starting ice dance and testing through the levels.
My long term goals mainly comes down to being a lifestyle skater; this includes experimenting skating to different music genres and trying out different choreographic elements. A bonus to these would include dedicating seasons to partnered ice dance or pairs skating because I’d like to try out those disciplines, hopefully enough to eventually compete at sectionals and nationals, as well as international adult competitions.
Q: What qualities do you possess that would make you a good partner?
I’m a hardworking and ambitious individual. Each day that I go to work at my job or practice on the ice, I make the most out of the time that I’m there to improve only only myself but also positively influence the environment around me. I’m also an optimistic and resilient individual; even if I have a bad day, I make sure to remind myself that the next day will come with better opportunities.
Extra comments:
I have club memberships in both ISI and USFS, so I can compete in either governing body. I am also a pro shop tech so I can advise us on what equipment (read: boots and blades) we’ll need and sharpen them too.
My main training rinks are Bowie Ice Arena (Bowie, MD) and Cabin John Ice Rink (Rockville, MD). I also train in the following rinks:
- Piney Orchard Ice Arena (Odenton, MD)
- Ashburn Ice House (Ashburn, VA)
I am also a dual citizen of the Philippines.
